What you give me

If you sign up for a guide or the newsletter, I collect your name, your email address, and the creative disciplines you check. If you write through the contact form, I collect your name, email, subject, and message. Nothing on this site asks for a payment method, and none of these fields are required to read the site.

What gets collected on its own

Like most sites, this one records ordinary request data through its host, including your IP address and browser type. IP addresses are also held for a short moment to rate-limit the forms, which is what keeps bots from farming the free guides.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, and the Meta Pixel to measure whether Facebook and Instagram ads are working and to show ads to people who have visited before. Both set cookies in your browser. The Meta Pixel reports your visit to Meta, including which pages you viewed and whether you signed up for a guide.

You can turn both off. Browser settings block cookies, most ad blockers stop both scripts, and Meta lets you control ad personalization inside your Facebook or Instagram account settings. Blocking them costs you nothing on this site — every page works the same either way.

Who else handles your information

I use a small number of outside services to run the site. Each one sees only what it needs:

• ·Vercel hosts the site and keeps standard request logs.
• ·ActiveCampaign stores the mailing list — your name, email, and the disciplines you selected.
• ·Resend delivers the guides, the welcome emails, and your contact-form message to my inbox.
• ·Cloudflare Turnstile checks that form submissions come from a person rather than a bot.
• ·Google Analytics measures site traffic.
• ·Meta measures and targets advertising, as described above.

I do not sell your information, rent it, or trade it. No one receives my mailing list.

Email

If you join the list you will get the guide you asked for, a short welcome, and a letter most Tuesdays. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works with one click. You can also email me and I will take you off myself.

Your information, on request

Write to david@davidcornue.com and I will tell you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You do not need to give a reason, and I will not ask for one. Depending on where you live, the law may already guarantee you these rights. You have them here either way.

Children

This site is meant for adults working on their writing. It is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves.
